There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over a raft just before the first rapid — paddles up, guide counting down, the jungle walls of the Ayung Gorge pressing in on both sides. That’s the moment we love sharing with our guests. The Ayung River White-Water Rafting Adventure takes you down 12 kilometers of Class II-III rapids just outside Ubud, and it’s built to work for almost anyone who wants a real adrenaline hit without needing a rafting resume.
Every raft on the river goes out with a certified guide seated at the back, steering, coaching, and calling the paddle commands. Before you launch, there’s a proper safety briefing. What sets the Ayung apart is the scenery in between the whitewater: dense jungle, waterfalls tumbling straight into the river, rice terraces, and riverside walls carved with relief artwork by local Ubud artists.
More Than Just the Rapids
We include air-conditioned hotel transfer both ways. When you reach the finish point, hot showers, changing rooms, and towels are ready for you, followed by a proper lunch before you head back. Small groups of two to eight people keep things personal. This is mindful travel the way we practice it: an adventure that’s genuinely exciting, wrapped in the kind of comfort that lets you actually be present for it.
